In 2004, Lycoming Law Association President Jack Humphrey announced the formation of the Community Activities and Outreach Committee. The Lycoming Law Association Foundation had accumulated substantial assets and was looking for worthwhile projects consistent with the purpose of the Foundation “to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, improve the legal and judicial system and facilitate the administration of justice” for residents of Lycoming County.
The Lycoming Law Association, has undertaken to solicit requests for grant funding through the Lycoming Law Association Foundation . The LLA Community Activities and Outreach Committee is the arm of the Association that is charged with conducting reviews of grant requests on behalf of the Association, and with making a recommendation to the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
On July 11, 2011, the Executive Committee of the Association approved procedures under which the committee will perform its functions. Under the procedures, the Committee will meet twice a year to review grant applications. The procedures also include a process for decision making that provides for a prompt determination as to whether the grant will be awarded.
The current chair of the Community Activities and Outreach Committee is Tammy Weber
